Fine Arts & Shopping Tour in Montreal

Spend a few hours absorbing some of the city’s culture, heritage and architecture on this guided tour of the Golden Square Mile area and its most prestigious museum: The Montreal museum of Fine Arts.

The Golden Square Mile was the nostalgic name given to a small neighbourhood developed between 1850 and 1930, at the foot of Mount Royal. From the 1930s, Montrealers began to refer to it as the "Square Mile", but the addition of 'Golden' was a comparatively modern twist added from the 1950s by Montreal's real estate world.

Participants will start the day by a visit of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts: founded in 1860, the MMFA features many important international exhibitions and is now Québec’s premier museum for the size of its collection. It houses

Final Night Reception and Gala Dinner at Theatre St. James

Join us as we celebrate the end of another productive International Conference.  The Gala Reception and Dinner will be held in the spectacular Theatre St. James, which is located via a brief walk on the block behind Le Westin Hotel. The night will be filled with food, drinks and special entertainment to bring the heart of Montreal to you!  We always have surprises in store for you during this final farewell to our delegates and guests, so make sure you plan to join us for another fun filled event!

This site on which the St-James Theatre currently stands was occupied by the St. James Methodist Church from 1845-1888, and L’Édifice Temple from 1889-1890.  The site was then purchased and became the main Montreal branch and headquarters for the Canadian Bank of Commerce.  In 2012, the owners of the Rialto Theatre purchased this former bank and renamed it the St-James Theatre.  While staying true to the history of the building and highlighting its breathtaking architecture, the St-James Theatre is one of Montreal’s newest high-end venues for private events.

Duration and timing: 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm.  This event is included in the cost of Delegate Registration fee onlyAll guests must purchase a ticket if they plan to attend this event.
