Norman Marsolan
Norman Marsolan, BS, Ph.D. Chemical Engineering, Louisiana State University, was appointed Director of the Institute in November, 2009. Marsolan was Director of Research & Development at International Paper Company after having held leadership and management assignments in process control, technology, and operations.  Marsolan was on the faculty at Louisiana Tech University (1976-1988) and served as Director of Engineering Research and Graduate Studies.   He is the immediate past chair of the Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper Industry (TAPPI).
Mr. Marsolan is with the the Renewable Bioproducts Institute (RBI) at the Georgia Institute of Technology, which is focused on becoming the premier research institute for the transformation of biomaterials into new products, including traditional and new forest products, renewable energy, chemicals, advanced materials and pharmaceuticals. William Strauss
William A. Strauss is a senior economist and economic advisor in the economic research department at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, which he joined in 1982. His chief responsibilities include analyzing the current performance of both the Midwest economy and the manufacturing sector for use in monetary policy. He produces the monthly Chicago Fed Midwest Manufacturing Index and organizes the Bank's Economic Outlook Symposium and Automotive Outlook Symposium. In addition, he conducts several economic workshops and industrial roundtables throughout the year. Read more
