“Resinall Employee receives Leadership Excellence Award”

Ponte Vedra Beach, FL.  Paul Pearce, Plant Manager of Resinall Corporation- Severn Plant, was awarded the Safety and Health Leadership Excellence Award on May 1, 2014 by the Pine Chemicals Association.  The award was presented to Pearce during the Pine Chemicals Association Spring Meeting that was held at the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fl.

The Safety and Health Leadership Excellence award is given to recognize and honor an individual in a top leadership position of a member company that has demonstrated excellence in their organizational leadership skills and strong commitment to manage safety and health programs as a core value of the organization.

Pearce’s selection was based on a number of factors, including his safety efforts which drove a culture of change within the organization beginning at the grassroots level.    “Paul’s steady and consistent management and his sincere concern for the employees who work for Resinall have made this change in culture sustainable,” remarked Jerry Johnson, who nominated Pearce for the award.

Pearce’s consistent and daily emphasis on safety have been the key to improvements at the Severn facility, including creation of an environment where all departments work together and not at cross purposes.  “Pearce is routinely present on the floor of the plant and his employees know that he would not ask them to do anything that he was not willing to do himself,” stated Johnson in his nomination.

Pearce’s employees understand that their well-being and safety within the facility will not be sacrificed for efficiency or cost control.  Further, the facility as a whole shares in rewards for good safety performance.  Under Pearce’s leadership, safety performance has improved from 12 OSHA recordable incidents, 7 lost time accidents and 35 first aid cases in 2000 to multiple years with ZERO incidents in all categories since 2007.

The Pine Chemicals Association congratulates Paul Pearce and Resinall for their commitment to safety and health excellence in the workplace and community which they operate.  More information on this and other awards can be found by visiting
