Ponte Vedra Beach, FL.  Daniel Kelley, EHS Technician with the Savannah Plant of Arboris LLC (a Jacksonville based company), was awarded the Safety and Health Employee Excellence Award on May 1, 2014 by the Pine Chemicals Association.  The award was presented to Pearce during the Pine Chemicals Association Spring Meeting that was held at the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fl.

The Safety and Health Employee Excellence award is given to recognize and honor an employee of a member company that has demonstrated excellence in their strong commitment to ensure safety and health initiatives are a core value of the organization.

Kelley’s selection was based on a number of factors, including his constant, continuous effort to make team members more effective by seeking ways to systemize and improve procedures for greater proficiency.  He understands the importance of team member involvement to gain better buy-in to achieve this culture of safety within the facility.

Kelley is unwavering is his dedication and enthusiasm, as he understands well that protecting employees and their families is paramount with his responsibilities.  Kelley shares his knowledge and experience openly with all team members, identifies younger employees and provides special coaching to ensure they grow in their expertise of the facility operations.  “Kelley is an influencer.  He doesn’t just give and answer, he is highly effective with discussing and encouraging his team members to talk their way through challenges toward viable solutions and consensus resolution,” remarked Kiel Hagberg, who nominated Kelley for the award.

Kelley undertook the task of writing and completing a facility labeling procedure which included nine story process tower.  He created inspections and checklists at the facility to ensure that no area of the site is left without continuous monitoring, creating online regulatory matrixes where every employee can see if all required tasks are current.
