89-year-old Kavekini Boselawa has seen many things, but this was indeed a special day for his community, Navula Village. CPPC representatives hand-deliver the first paycheck to our first community managed and owned tapping operation. CPPC provides the technical training and tapping equipment and the community manages the operation, working together. Like most of the forests we work in, Navula is remote and on the verge of being logged for income generation. Tapping is a sustainable alternative that provides ongoing annual income. Congrats to Navula and our highly committed pine extension officers!
